The button jar is an old jam jar crammed with stories.

Hopefully one of the buttons will strike a chord with you and inspire you to contribute a short story (maximum 500 words) or a poem.

To read a story select pick a button. This will take you to a page of buttons. If the button has a story attached it will have an * next to it and a title and authors name will appear on rollover. If the button has a number on rollover it means it has no story associated with it yet and so write one!

To contribute to the site follow this process:

1. Follow the pick a button link. If a button has a story attached it will have an * next to it and on rollover it will have a title and authors name - if the button doesn't have a story attached to it yet it will display a number on rollover, for example button 10, which means it is still available.

2. Make a note of the number of the button and email me a story (maximum 500 words) or poem and the number of the button you would like it attached to - buttonjar@ljmu.ac.uk

3. If you would like to link your story to another authors, for example does your character meet their character, or does one event follow another, or are they merely set in the same place, then also tell me which story you want to be connected to and which word is the link from your page.

The more stories added the better.
